Dr. Medina is by far the best doctor I have ever had. His surgical technique is outstanding and nobody knows hernias better. He has also gone out of his way to make sure I get the best doctors to help me recover from my auto accident three and a half years ago. He is the first one who really cared.

Why choose the Colorado Hernia Center?
- The focus on patient education. The patient is a critical member of the team that works to repair the hernia and help expedite the return to health. Surgical decisions are made together, and, with physician and staff guidance, patients drive their recovery.
- The dedication to excellence. Hernia repair is medical director Dr. Ed Medina’s clinical interest and primary area of expertise. He’s proficient in the latest techniques for all types of repairs and has dedicated his practice to these procedures.
- Experience with complicated cases. Most hernias can be repaired utilizing minimally invasive techniques in an outpatient setting. However, some ruptures in the abdominal wall require advanced techniques and as long as eight hours in the operating room for a complete, safe and long-term repair. Dr. Medina’s skill and experience enable him to best manage these cases.
- The commitment to pain control and quick recovery. There’s no reason for patients to endure unnecessary pain. Dr. Medina uses various methods for managing post-operative pain, including the liberal use of automatic pain pumps. Adequately managing pain can expedite patients’ recovery and help them return to work or their normal daily activities more quickly.
